Mike Florio from PFT and NBC joined the guys as he does each Wednesday to go around the league and he explained why he is becoming so high on the Panthers right now.

“All of the Broncos fans are complaining,” says Florio after he moved the Carolina Panthers above them to the #2 position of the best NFL teams this season, so he doesn’t want any complaints from Carolina Panthers fans!

When talking about this upcoming Sunday Night match-up between the Saints and Panthers, he does think that the winner of this game will be the NFC South winner at the end of the season.

“If one team sweeps, then that team holds the tiebreaker,” says Florio.  “It’s over.”

But if the teams split each other’s games and then beat the inferior other two teams, then the Saints will have the edge on the NFL’s 4th tiebreaker because they have a better conference record (since 2 of their losses were out of the conference).

Due to the tardiness of the Saints plane getting back on time, Florio says it does have some affect on the players since they have to start practicing on Tuesday with an already shortened week.

“The players just want to get back into a routine…when you just got your butt kicked” says Florio.  “It throws a wrench into everything.”

Florio says that it’s a bigger gap for the New Orleans Saints to lose out to the #2 NFC playoff spot and not get the bye and play at home since their track record on the road playing in the playoffs is pretty bad.

Listen more to Florio’s interview about whether or not Steelers coach Tomlin should have gotten suspended for interfering with Ravens play, the referees calling the Redskins/Giants game, and who is the front runner for Coach of the Year.
