NBC Sports Rodney Harrison: “Like Brady, Steve Smith Has That Work Ethic, That’s Why He Is So Great”
From NBC Sports Football Night in America Rodney Harrison the former New England Patriots safety talks with The Drive about his proclamation that Cam Newton should have been benched a few weeks ago, how the Panthers have managed to win 8 straight games, and what one trait that Tom Brady has that makes him such a great quarterback.
Steve Smith first asks Rodney about the Panthers defense.
“You have a really good group of linebackers…the biggest question I have is the secondary can they match up across the board if the front seven doesn’t get a push”
The Panthers are most certainly in the hunt for the Superbowl but does Rodney think so “I don’t see why not…right now they are just playing. They don’t care what people are saying. They cant start feeling good about themselves their preparation has to get better and better”
Rodney played through a lot in his years in the league so Steve asks about the officials in the league now and the tough calls they are making.
“You know Steve you can’t play football anymore. It’s really sad to me because they are taking the purity and the aggressiveness out of the defense.”
Rodney Harrison will be in the NBC Studios in New York as they cover the game in New Orleans when the Panthers travel to The Big Easy on Sunday for the 8:30p kickoff against the Saints.
