Mike Florio, from ProFootballTalk.com, joins Mac and Jim for his weekly Wednesday interview.

On the Panthers comeback against Miami: To come back from a double digit deficit, to convert a key 4th-and-10, win on the road in a short week. That’s a spot, the Panthers of old, many teams in that situation. To pull out that win was a huge accomplishment.

On young quarterbacks: We expect young quarterbacks to come in and play right away and also to be as good as they’re ever going to be, in their first few years. These guys will mature.

On Robert Griffin III: He will mature. The question is how quickly will he do it, will the Redskins wait for him to mature, and when he does how much will he mature, and will his knee haunt him? From a national perspective, what’s going on in Washington is bigger than the criticism Cam faced last season. The dysfunction could continue, this coaching change that feels inevitable, there’s no guarantee that the new coach will want RG3, unless you hire someone who has worked with RG3, like Art Briles.

Florio also discusses Mike Shanahan (and all coaches) being a control freak, the culture in Seattle, the unrealistic expectations of local fans, and being honest about your favorite team, despite the recent success.
