Being a fan of the NC State Wolfpack has never been a picnic.

Whether is was Dudley Bradley stealing the ball from Clyde “The Glyde” Austin in Reynolds Coliseum to referee Rick Hartzell’s horrendous traveling call on Chris Corchiani in the 1989 NCAA Tournament sweet 16 to the Pack’s laying of a 37-0 egg at Carter Finley Stadium in the 2007 season finale against Maryland where a bowl bid was on the line, times have often have not been kind to us wolfpackers.

But this year has about tested the last bit of patience that I have had the strength to muster.

As Dave Doeren’s first year as NC State head football coach mercifully comes to an end next weekend, the Pack is staring at the real possibility of going winless in the ACC for the first time since 1959 and no, I was not around for that fun season.

This year has been nothing short of a disaster that has caused me on more than one occasion to scream “just run the wildcat for the rest of the season, don’t throw the ball”.

Meanwhile, the hoops season has begun with a 2-2 record after a home loss in overtime to that powerhouse NC Central, a game where it took a 3 pointer by a walk on to even get the game to an extra frame.

Basically, what I am saying is that it is hard to be a Wolfpack fan right now.

Anybody know when bass fishing season begins for the Pack?
