Charlotte Man Accused Of Stealing From Dead
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Police have arrested a Charlotte man and accused him of stealing things from a home where the owner was found dead of natural causes.
Twenty-year-old Pressley Davis Jr. has been charged with burglary, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a gun by a felon and six counts of larceny of a gun.
Davis was being held in the Mecklenburg County jail. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
Police say Davis targeted a home because the garbage can had not been brought in and the mailbox was full.
The homeowner’s name has not been released.
Police were called when someone saw several men leave the home in the owner’s car.
