Duke’s Coach Cut on Recruiting “We’ll Get Our Players And Everyone Else Can Fend For Themselves”
The surprising 7-2 Duke Blue Devils coach David Cutcliffe talks with The Drive about the Devils first back to back bowl appearances in Durham, how recruiting has changed in the ACC, and what people may think of his team from around the country.
Did Coach Cutcliffe see his team being at 7-2 after 9 games well yes he did. “We had a really good spring practice…the players made a commitment in the off-season to work in weight room. When we reported back in August we were really conditioned.”
With a 7-2 record the confidence in Durham is sky high. “There’s no question. They are confident they know they have to play well but everyone has to play well”
Marc will be in Durham on Saturday to pull for his Hurricanes but he has some game planning for coach. “Well make sure you call them and let them know your plan”
The coastal division is surely in the grasp for the Blue Devils had coach talked to his players about it? “I’m very aware of it and so are the players we’re in the hunt and that’s a good feeling.” “But you have to keep winning to stay in it period.”
