I know that I run the risk of jinxing this thing, after all we saw this at the beginning of last season and all we got for that was the firing of a head coach after only one season.

But here, I will say it anyway…. the Charlotte Bobcats are off to a promising start.

You can already see some glimpses of potential with this group, something that by the end last year you wondered if we would ever see with this franshise.

Kemba Walker has established himself as the unquestioned leader and go to guy, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist seems to be getting more comfortable and confident by the game offensively, and Bismack Biyombo is slowly turning into a legitimate post option for the Cats while providing real resistance down low defensively as well.

All this without the contributions of free agent acquisition Al Jefferson who has battled an ankle injury and the to be expected rookie growing pains of Cody Zeller.

I’m not ready to declare them the favorite for the 5 seed in the Eastern Conference, but you can at least see some indications that folks around here may be interested in another form of hoops during the cold winter months that don’t include Duke or UNC.

Again, I know that this is a dicey proposition.  You can blame me if this thing goes south once again.
