UNC quarterback Bryn Renner offers his account of Gio Bernard’s last second punt return in last year’s game against NC State.
Renner talks about the rivalry win over State last year being a spark for the team and needing the win this year. Calls this year “a challenge”, pointing out it has been tough after losing so many guys last year and using so many young guys this year. The team has continued to battle, but ultimately execution has been their downfall. Bryn also notes the Tar Heels level of play the last two weeks and believe they’re on the way to turning the season around.
On the topic of splitting teams with Marquise Williams: It’s been great for the production of our offense. Having both guys who can do different things has given us a little spark.
On Eric Ebron’s recent trash talking aimed at NC State: Renner acknowledges he did pull Eric aside and emphasizes the need to let their play do their talking on the field.
The veteran QB also discusses the UNC-NC Sate rivalry across multiple sports, his performance at the Manning Passing Academy and his draft stock.
