Mike Belotti, the leader in wins for the Oregon Ducks, talks with WFNZ’s “The Drive” first about his Oregon Ducks and if they’re the best team in college football  Plus, they discuss Jadeveon Clowney and what is wrong with his game this year, and Mike drops a bombshell on us saying that Marcus Mariota, the QB at Oregon, will be better in the league than Cam Newton.

“Everyone wants to talk about the offense at Oregon…but I think their real key is the defense,” says Belotti.

“The defensive line is where they’ve made their strides in the past few years.”

With the college football season winding down, we asked the former head coach who he sees as being the #1 pick in next year’s NFL Draft.

“If and win Oregon wins out, it’ll be because of Marcus Mariota…he’s an explosive player.”  Belotti went on to talk about how he thought FSU’s Jameis Winston is a “great quarterback,” but thought Marcus thought he has been there and “took Oregon to a BCS victory.”

“I think Marcus is getting the credit he deserves,” says Belotti.

With Panthers’ Steve Smith in studio with “The Drive,” former Utah player and ‘West” player Smitty asked Coach Belotti just how good Marcus Mariota will be in the NFL, setting off a answer that we weren’t expecting!

“I think Marcus Mariota will be a fine quarterback in the NFL…better than umm well better than Carolina’s quarterback right now,” says Belotti.

Belotti thinks that Marcus Mariota is just a “better student at the game” when it comes into learning the calls and doing the work behind the scenes.
