Charges Upgraded After Bottle Attack Victim Dies
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A suspect has been charged with murder after the death of a 64-year-old man hospitalized earlier this month after being beaten with a bottle during a robbery attempt.
Raleigh police say Curtis Ray Woodard died on Wednesday at WakeMed. He had been there since Oct. 7.
That night, police say 32-year-old Britis Andruce Previlon beat Woodard, then ran away. He was arrested about two hours later.
Previously charged with assault, Previlon is now charged with murder. He also faces charges of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and resisting a police officer during his arrest.
His bail has been set at more than $1 million, and it wasn’t known if he had an attorney.
