Man Arrested In Charlotte Stabbing Death
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte police have arrested a man in a stabbing death.
Police say they were called shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday and found 42-year-old Scott Richard Connelly. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville and was pronounced dead.
Police have arrested 44-year-old Dwight Lamont Burch and charged him with second degree murder.
Police said the men knew each other and had a confrontation before the stabbing.
Investigators said Burch told them he and Connelly had argued and Burch had returned to his hotel room. He said a short time later Connelly tried to push his way into Burch’s hotel room and he stabbed Connelly.
It was not clear if Burch has an attorney.
