Greg Cosell, the executive producer for NFL Films and the NFL match up show joined the guys as he does each Friday at 805am.

After watching the Vikings and Panthers game last weekend, Cosell thought that “there was a lot of continuity in the first half with a greater emphasis on the run game.”   With power, zone, and read options, he says that Williams looked “explosive” with his runs and said Panthers had wide array of plays that worked well, similar to the San Francisco 49ers run game.

Taking from Cam Newton’s plays in the Viking game, Cosell thought the QB was very efficient even though many other websites using their stats said that Cam wasn’t excellent because of the lack of long plays down the field.

Cosell says that Cam was “poised and composed in the pocket” and “moved in the pocket really efficiently keeping his down field focus,” something which Cosell thinks he can still keep improving on to become an elite QB.

Listen to the full interview to hear about Cam’s plays versus the Panthers game plan and how both are orchestrated on the field.
