On this week’s interview with Steve Smith on “The Drive,” Steve Smith talked about how aggressive Ron Rivera was in his play calling against the Minnesota Vikings blowout on both the offense and defensive sides of the ball.
“So why can’t we get this every Sunday?” says Smith. “Being predictable…that’s not fun.” The Panthers #1 wide receiver talked about how their a lot of “little nuances” in the game that people don’t really recognize that breaks down the other team’s big weapons.
As for one reason the Panthers have been inconsistent over this season, Steve Smith really couldn’t find a particular reason.
“Every game there has been something different,” says Smith.
The Carolina Panthers are preparing for the St. Louis Rams coming to town on Sunday, but surprisingly the team is 7-11 at home with Ron Rivera as a head coach. But being second in the NFC South, the Panthers are at least still vying for a wild card spot in the NFC Playoffs.
“As Panthers fans we also have to understand and look at you can’t kick us when we’re down with the losses and then all of a sudden think that we’re the best thing since sliced bread. There are 16 games, and there are going to be things that happen that as players we don’t want to put on film but it happens. But we’re going to play our butts off.”
