S.C. Man Pleads Guilty To Setting Mother On Fire
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — An Anderson County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for setting his 61-year-old mother on fire.
Prosecutor Chrissy Adams says Stanley Shawn Davis was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to murder.
Debra Davis of Piedmont died in the hospital in February, six weeks after she was set on fire. Neighbors called 911, telling investigators that Davis said her son did it.
Stanley Davis was originally charged with attempted murder after the fire. Investigators say he was shot and wounded by his brother after the fire. The brother was not charged.
