NC Man Facing Murder Count Charged In Second Slaying
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A Fayetteville man charged with murder and kidnapping in the slaying of a Rockingham man now faces a second murder charge.
Fayetteville Police say 31-year-old Kelly Eugene Elliott is charged in the Aug. 30 slaying of 37-year-old Derrick Maurice Morrisey of Raeford. Morrisey was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Fayetteville night club.
Two days later, on Sept. 1, 27-year-old Errol Williams of Rockingham was kidnapped from a Fayetteville convenience store. Police say he was shot when he tried to escape when his abductors stopped their car.
Elliott was charged in that case and later apprehended in Conroe, Texas.
Two other men are also charged in the Williams slaying.
