NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CBS Charlotte) — Fantasy football owners really don’t care that Chris Johnson’s Tennessee Titans are 3-1 after Sunday’s win against the New York Jets.
Fantasy owners vented about Johnson’s play during the Jets game on Twitter as the running back only rushed for 21 yards on 15 carries with no touchdowns.
Some Twitter users went over the top in their frustration with Johnson, cursing at him and even hurling racial slurs.
“You need to step your game up and stop running like a scared b****, you get your nfl paycheck and quit?” one Twitter user posted, according to Larry Brown Sports.
Another one said, “n**** u made me lose u gon pay.”
Johnson responded to the tweets, telling them he doesn’t care about their fantasy football teams: “U r the head coach n the owner of ur fantasy team so u should be mad at urself I didn’t ask any of u to draft me so if I’m so sorry y start me” (sic)
He also added: “Public service announcement: I can care less about fantasy football. Key word fantasy. As long as we win I’m happy. I rush for 200 n lose y’all happy.” (sic)
Johnson has yet to score a touchdown this season, rushing for 277 yards on 84 carries through four games. He has accumulated only 28 points so far in CBS Sports Fantasy Football.
