SC Man Charged With Homicide After Baby Dies
CHESTER, S.C. (AP) — A Chester County man faces a charge of homicide by child abuse after his girlfriend’s 11-month-old daughter died with head injuries.
Chester County Sheriff’s Major Mary Anne Tolbert says 27-year-old Jeffery Todd Bradley Jr. was the only adult at the home with the baby when she suffered injuries that needed emergency hospital care. The girl died Friday.
Deputies responded to a call about a baby being injured on Wednesday. Officers arriving at the home found it empty. Deputies were contacted about the injured child a short time later by Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. The hospital also contacted the county social services department.
Bradley is being held at the Chester County Detention Center without bond.
He left the U.S. Army in May 2012 after nearly a decade in the military.
