CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer has been arrested and accused of submitting false time sheets while working off-duty.
Officer Michael Thompson was charged Thursday with eight counts of obtaining property by false pretense. Detectives say Thompson submitted times sheets while working for a local homeowners association.
He’s been placed on unpaid administrative leave while the investigation is conducted.
Thompson has been with the department since 2007. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
