Former NC Principal, Teacher Sentenced To Prison
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A former charter school principal and a former special education teacher face prison following their conviction on child pornography charges.
U.S. District Court Judge Martin Reidinger sentenced 42-year-old Chadwick Hamby of Hendersonville to more than four years in prison, lifetime supervised release and to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
Reidinger sentenced 45-year-old Deborah Lee Tipton of Burt to 18 years in prison, lifetime supervised release and to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
Hamby pleaded guilty last August to receiving child pornography. In September, Tipton pleaded guilty to possession and to transportation of child pornography.
Court documents said Tipton produced two sexually explicit videos of a child and sent them to Hamby via the internet. Documents say Hamby admitted watching the videos before deleting them.
