FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Police say believe an explosion that killed a North Carolina man and hurt three other people standing near a fire pit was probably and accident.

Fayetteville police said Sunday the deceased is 28-year-old Martin Antoine Blossom, who lived at the home where the explosion happened. A 14-year-old is among the three others who were treated at a hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.

Police say the cause of the explosion hasn’t been determined, but the preliminary investigation has not shown any signs of foul play and the blast was believed to be accidental.

The explosion happened as several people were standing around a fire pit in the front yard Saturday evening.
