The Drive Thursday 9-12-13 – The head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies Frank Beamer talks with The Drive about his first 2 games of the season, how the Hokies can get back to being the dominant team in the ACC, and we preview his upcoming game this week against ECU.

The great Hokie head coach Frank Beamer talks with The Drive as they preview the ECU game this weekend.  We start off asking the coach about his concerns about the depth of his team after starting the season 1-1.

“Well we’ve played a lot of freshman.  We are probably younger than we’ve ever been.”

“You know I see improvement I thought we got better last week and we’re going to have to take another big step this week against ECU”

The defense has been impressive this year so far allowing only 206 yards to Alabama and under 200 yards to WCU.  With that side of the ball in good hands we ask the coach what he’s most concerned about.

“Well we dropped a bunch of balls in the Alabama game so we got better there in the second week”

With the Oklahoma St story from Yahoo in the news we get his opinion on the NCAA and if College football is out of control.

“All I know that here at Virginia Tech  we take great pride in doing things the right way.”

Virginia Tech plays ECU at 12p on Saturday.  You can hear the radio call on 1660am.
