The Drive Tuesday 9-3-13 -  Brad Nessler talks with The Drive about the start of college football including the Georgia vs Clemson game, if Johnny Manziel is taking more scrutiny than most Heisman Trophy winners , and after Jameis Winston impressive debut last night as a freshman we ask Brad who he thinks had the best freshman debut of all time.

Brad Nessler talked with The Drive before his call of the Gamecocks and Bulldogs this weekend.  We start with the incredbile performance of the freshman Jameis Winston from Florida State.

“Can you be much better than this.  He’s gonna be the starter and he’s gonna be a star”

“I think they found a good one, I dont think they’ll be saying E.J. who anytime soon but the kid looks pretty good”

We stay in the ACC and ask Brad about Clemson beating another Top 10 SEC team in Georgia and just how good they are.

“I kept telling people it would be 45-42 and when they said who wins I said whoever had 45″

“Georgia has some work to do on that offensive line or they’re going to get eaten alive on Saturday afternoon”

Next we talk about the polarizing figure of Johnny Manziel and why he acts like he does.

“I don’t know what it is, he needs some guidance.  If he has some high school schmo pretending to be his adviser that’s not the way to go.”

“If he looks at himself and doesnt go ‘that looks stupid and why’d I do that’ then he doesn’t want to change”

We close by asking the great analyst about his first NFL game with the Jets and Patriots.

“They have more problems than just the quarterback.  The coach and GM aren’t even close to being on the same page”

“I don’t think that thing is ever going to get straightened out”
