CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified a man who was struck and killed by a train earlier this week.
Officials say the victim was 42-year-old Adam Kenneth Lynch.
Officials say Lynch died Tuesday night when he was hit by a Norfolk Southern freight train Tuesday night.
Police say the engineer and conductor saw the man on the track and sounded the horn. The crew also used their emergency brakes, but they were unable to stop before hitting Lynch.
The train crew was not hurt.
