WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — A New Hanover County worker faces charges that he accepted money in return for reporting that people on probation had completed their community service requirements.
The sheriff’s office said Monday that 53-year-old Richard Randolph Huddleston faces six felony counts in connection with the alleged scam.
Huddleston is a groundskeeper at Hugh MacRae Park. He is responsible for supervising people on probation who have to perform community service.
Huddleston is now in jail. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
