SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a private basketball coach and charged him with sexually assaulting one of his students.

Fifty-year-old Anthony Bernard Jenkins of Spartanburg County was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

A sheriff’s report says the victim said the assaults occurred began in 2007 when the victim was 14 and continued until last August.

The victim said the incidents occurred at Jenkins’ home and at a gym.

Sgt. Tony Brown said Jenkins trains students from around the world and has brought students to stay at his home. Jenkins played at Clemson between 1982 and 1987. He played professionally in Europe.

Sheriff Chuck Wright said he thinks there could be more victims.

It was not clear if Jenkins has an attorney.
