(CBS Charlotte) — Are you a thrill seeker interested in doing something daring to help the North Carolina chapter of the Special Olympics?

If so, then we have the perfect event for you: Over the Edge 2013.

Over the Edge will be held in Raleigh and Charlotte in October 2013.

The Wells Fargo Capitol Center is the chosen venue for the Raleigh event — which will take place on October 5. Participants will climb down 32 stories of the building. For the event in Charlotte, participants will climb down 23 stories of the Fifth Third Center, on October 12.

In order to go over the edge, participants must raise $1,000 by their event day.

The North Carolina chapter of the Special Olympics provides participants with online tools that enable you to generate donations.

Anyone who wants to go over the edge should be at least 14-years-old and should weigh at least 110 pounds, but no more than 300 pounds.

For more information, please contact: sdoggett@sonc.net, or you can register for the Charlotte event by clicking here.
