(CBS Charlotte) — One person is dead after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were dispatched to a home in North Charlotte early this morning.
The incident happened on Penninger Circle and involved an altercation between a man and his son.
The son called 9-1-1 after his father shot at him.
The father, Lemuel Rufus Furr III, 59, greeted officers with two handguns and pointed the guns in the officers direction.
A CMPD officer fired shots at Furr, and as a result, he died from gun shot wounds.
It is not known at this time if all police procedures were followed accordingly. Detectives are currently investigating the case.
