(CBS Charlotte) — When you visit the doctor with an ailment, you are often prescribed medication to treat your symptoms — regardless of other non-medicated remedies that may help alleviate your symptoms.
Your doctor is a medically trained professional who is highly educated and extremely qualified to diagnose your condition. However, since your doctor is medically trained, he is specifically trained to treat your condition/ailment medically — with the use of medication. Today, we are an RX dependent culture.
Only six percent of doctors today have nutritional training, and many doctors admit that they simply do not know enough about diet and nutrition. There are a plethora of herbal remedies and vitamin supplements that have been proven to effectively treat and perhaps even cure many diseases — but sadly, many of these non-medicated alternatives are often overlooked and disregarded.
For instance, the first documented cases of vitamin therapy to treat diseases began in the 1940’s. For over 40 years, Dr. Frederick R. Klenner, a North Carolina doctor, used extremely high doses of Vitamin C, around 300,000 milligrams each day — to treat diseases such as cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and hepatitis — in addition to treating common conditions, such as high cholesterol, infections, pneumonia, and poisonous insect bites.
Klenner found that using high doses of vitamin C was incredibly safe and effective in curing many diseases. Despite his findings, vitamin C therapy is not widely practiced today, and in fact, has continued to be largely ignored in the medical community. Instead, many doctors choose to treat diabetes, cancer, and other diseases with harsh medications that continue to only treat the disease — not cure it.
For example, many people who are diagnosed with cancer undergo chemotherapy in an attempt to “destroy” their cancer cells. However, chemotherapy medications weaken a person’s entire body — destroying healthy cells in the process, and often leaving the patient feeling ill and making them susceptible to infections that their body may not be able to recover from.
While more scientific studies need to be conducted regarding the effectiveness of vitamin C therapy, the cure for cancer and various other diseases may have already been discovered, and yet — very few doctors look beyond medication as an alternative to cure diseases.
