(CBS Charlotte) — Charlotte native Reid Fliehr passed away over two months ago from a lethal combination of several drugs, including heroin. He was 25-years-old.

Fliehr, a professional wrestler, followed in his Dad’s footsteps. His Dad, Ric Fliehr (Flair) found Reid unconscious in a Charlotte hotel room on March 29, 2013.

Before his death, Fliehr had wrestled professionally in Japan, and was back in the states preparing for a wrestling match in Maryland — with his Father.

According to the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner, at the time of his death, Fliehr had Xanax, heroin, and clonazepam in his system.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police had previously cited a “drug overdose” as the probable cause of death in their reports.

Despite the cause of death, before his passing, Fliehr was living his dream, and was doing what he loved. He was an extremely positive and appreciative individual, but was haunted by troubles from his past.
