Rick Bonnell had an intersting tidbit in the Observer recently. He has a source who says that Kentucky big man Nerlens Noel might fall in the draft all the way to the Bobcats at #4. The reason given is his knee injury.
It made me think if this would be a good thing or a bad thing. I have concluded that this scares the hell out of me. Big Men are hot commodities in the NBA and at #4, I could easily see the Bobcats being excited at the value they are getting. I don’t want them to have this temptation. There are too many questions with Noel. Can he develop an offensive game? Will the knee hold up? Is he too similar to Biz?
In the last two drafts, the Cats have picked Defensive guys, who are projects offensively in Biz and MKG. Noel seems pretty redundant to Biz although no near as raw. I want someone with an offensive skill set. And, to me that guy is Anthony Bennett. He can put it on the floor and shoot in the pick and pop game. He is also a monster finisher around the rim.
Give me Anthony Bennett and I would be happy. Now, lets just hope the Cavs, Magic or Wizards take Noel.
