The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has just announced their new football stadium name, and the name clearly is coming from a local businessman and sports leader.
Jerry Richardson Stadium will be the new name of the UNCC football team this season as they join Conference USA to play football for the first time. The owner of the Carolina Panthers made a $10 million dollar donation to the school in order to secure the naming rights.
Along with his wife, Richardson has also created a scholarship fund for a football player in honor of their son Jon.
