MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a woman in a motorized wheelchair trying to cross a street in Myrtle Beach has been struck and killed.

Investigators said 53-year-old Debra Johnson died from head injuries around 8 p.m. Wednesday, about eight hours after she hit.

Police say Johnson was hit by a slow-moving van turning left as she crossed the road. She was thrown out of her wheelchair.

Police are still investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
