CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — Road crews are getting ready to periodically close ramps on an exit off Interstate 85 in Cabarrus County.
The Department of Transportation said its crews will begin to demolish the N.C. Highway 73 bridge over I-85 Sunday night. They will closed lanes on the highway on exit and on ramps periodically as the work continues.
The work will take place from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. It is part of a project to widen I-85 to eight lanes in the area.
The DOT says the work to demolish the bridge should be finished by Wednesday morning.
