RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — U.S. and North Carolina flags across the state are being lowered to half-staff to honor fallen law enforcement officers

Gov. Pat McCrory ordered all flags to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday. McCrory is also encouraging all citizens to display flags at half-staff at their homes and businesses that day as well.

McCrory said in a statement that the state recognizes and appreciates the critical contributions and sacrifices made by members of law enforcement at all levels, and honors their courage and dedication.
