The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently brought together stakeholders at its first-ever distracted driving symposium.

National Distracted Awareness Month just wrapped up, but the turn of a calendar page doesn’t have to mean you forget the importance of this issue. Check out this short video I recorded for Rob Richardson of DRIVE SMART Virginia, a coalition group dedicated to spreading the word about the dangers of texting while driving.

Here’s an excerpt from the blog Rob posted with the video on the website:

As the owner and editor of “Be Car Chic,” Melanie promotes Distraction Free Fridays. She says she believes you have to give people time to change their behavior.  She says she encourages people to start a conversation with friends and family about distracted driving dangers.

What are some ways that you feel drivers, particularly Charlotte-area commuters, could help combat distracted driving?
