LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) — Robeson County officials say a man’s body pulled from a well last weekend has been identified.

Sheriff’s Maj. Anthony Thompson says the state medical examiner’s office has identified the remains as 35-year-old Bruce Lee Hunt, who had been missing for about three years.

Thompson says an autopsy showed Hunt had been shot in the head.

Deputies found the body Saturday in a well near the home of 27-year-old Dwayne Wesley Oxendine.

Oxendine has been charged with second-degree murder.

Sheriff Kenneth Sealey said Oxendine told investigators where to find Hunt’s body.

It was not clear if Oxendine has an attorney.

Sealey would not discuss a motive.
