(CBS Charlotte) — April 15, 2013, is probably better known as tax day…and if you haven’t filed yet, don’t panic — there’s still time to get your taxes to the IRS on time.
If filing online wasn’t an option for you this year, and if you’re stuck at work until 5 p.m., you can still mail your tax forms to the IRS. The post office on North McDowell Street in Uptown Charlotte has extended hours this evening. Previously, many post offices would stay open until midnight on tax day, but because a large percentage of people filed their taxes online this year, the post office will only be open until 7 p.m. tonight.
Additionally, the USPS Distribution Center, located on Scott Futrell Drive, is open until 9 p.m. tonight. Take a deep breath, because you can mail your tax forms from there if you don’t get to the Uptown location on time.
