(CBS Charlotte) — Police, firefighters, and HazMat crews in Concord were dispatched to the office of local Congressman Richard Hudson earlier today, after one of his staff members opened an article of mail that contained a white powdery substance.

Emergency officials at the scene tested the substance and it is non-hazardous.

According to WBTV, Hudson, who is a United States Congressman for the Eighth District of North Carolina, is currently in Washington, DC — and was not in the office at the time of the incident.
