More than anything I am hoping for a good game tonight. I thought the quality of play on Saturday left a lot to be desired. Sure, both games had dramatic finishes, but neither was anywhere close to well played. And secondly, I hope the game ends before midnight. I get that you’ve got to include all time zones, but those extra 23 minutes (tip time is 9:23) makes a big difference. Now, there’s a chance the game will end close to midnight, and most of us will be lucky to get six hours of sleep.

Okay, enough complaining. I like Louisville to beat Michigan tonight. There’s no way Russ Smith and Peyton Siva struggle like they did on Saturday, and Gorgui Dieng doesn’t even score. Louisville looked nervous/shell shocked/cold on Saturday. I expect them to play looser tonight. I also expect Michigan’s Trey Burke to have a much beeter game too, and for mitch McGary to score more than 10 points, but in the end I think the pace that Louisville will play at, plus their second half defensive pressure will be the difference. Louisville 72, Michigan 67.

And finally I wish Chris Webber would show up and support his alma mater tonight. Its the first time in 20 years that Michigan has played for the national championship and he should be there. I understand the senseless criticism he still receives over calling that timeout bothers him, and more importantly, the payments he received from rogue booster Ed Martin is something that he refuses to talk about. But its past time to be the better man. Be an example to others on what not to do when you are a supersta college athlete. Nobody carries more clout in Michigan basketball history than Chris Webber does. Him showing up in the Georgia Dome would be wonderful for college basketball.
