RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Police are investigating the theft of electronic equipment from a Raleigh high school.

The theft discovered Thursday comes after nine similar break-ins at two elementary schools in Raleigh earlier this year.

Officials say up to $20 thousand in electronics equipment was taken from Enloe High School sometime after classes ended Wednesday.

Conn Elementary School reported $18,000 in thefts of computers, tablet computers and other electronic gear.

Officials at Powell Elementary School have yet to come up with a figure for their losses.

Wake County Public School System spokesman Russ Smith says the schools have alarm systems but the thefts occurred before police arrived.

Smith would not talk about whether the break-ins suggest someone is familiar with the buildings.

Raleigh police have increased patrols around the schools.
