Last week I posted my entire NCAA Tournament Bracket for the whole world to see for the second straight year. I always try to make any picks for any sport known in advance and I stand by them. I did fairly well the first four days and a lot better than last year. I still have 10 of the Sweet 16 teams left, 7 of the Elite 8 teams left, and all 4 Final Four teams.
I still have Duke beating Louisville to get to the Final Four.
I still have Ohio State beating _______ (fill in the blank, this is my one elite 8 loss) to go to the Final Four.
I still have Miami beating Marquette and then beating Indiana, who I have beating Syracuse.
I still have Florida beating Kansas, who I have beating Michigan.
Not too shabby. Looking back on it now, I won’t waver even though Michigan and Kansas looked good in the 2nd half of their games
against VCU and UNC. Florida obviously has a tough road ahead if they make it to the elite 8. I know everyone is excited about Florida Gulf Coast and their fun-to-watch kids from ‘Dunk City’ but I think their nice run ends against the Gators. And I will stick with Duke as I think they can get by Michigan State and then win another game against Louisville, who they beat earlier in the year.
Miami may have lost Reggie Johnson but I think Shane Larkin is good enough to carry them out of that region, matter of fact I have them playing in the championship game after beating Florida in the Final Four.
Ohio State *should* be able to get past Arizona and then hopefully knock off the #9 seed Wichita State Shockers or the #13 La Salle…. I don’t even know what the La Salle team name is. I have the Buckeyes beating Duke in the national semi-final and then going on to beat the Hurricanes in the title game.
A few of these games go my way and I might actually win the bracket pool I am in. Wish me luck!
