(CBS Charlotte) — Mayor Anthony Foxx has made his way to another CBS Charlotte article — and this time, it’s not about the Streetcar Project, but rather about possibly becoming the next U.S. Secretary of Transportation.
Recently, several media outlets reported that Foxx is seriously being considered for the role. Additionally, several Twitter users tweeted today that Foxx planned on accepting the position.
WBTV did some investigating into the rumors, but they couldn’t get a straight answer form Foxx’s office. However, in a phone interview with a WBTV reporter earlier today, Foxx denied the rumors that he was considering the position and added that he is “happy being the mayor of Charlotte and I plan to be here a good while.”
Just in case you’re wondering, if Foxx has a change of heart and wanted to become the next U.S. Secretary of Transportation, City Council members would have to elect a new Mayor.
