Triangle Team Predictions For Friday
First off, I hate what happened to Davidson in the final minute yesterday. People will say they choked, and sure, the errant pass out of bounds didn’t help, but credit Marquette. They hit three totally contested 3 pointers during that span. Bob McKillop’s program experienced the best of the tournament five years ago, and now the worst.
And congratulations to all North Carolina A&T fans. The Aggies made an incredible nine day run trough the postseason, only to run out of steam against the country’s best team in Louisville. There’s no shame in that, and now Aggies will be proud of what this team accomplished, instead of remembering that they had a losing record at the beginning of last week.
Today Duke plays Albany in Philadelphia just after lunch time. I would be more shocked if Duke lost than when Appalachian State beat Michigan in football. There’s no way Coach K’s team lose to consecutive 15 seeds. I would expect to see a hungry Blue Devils team, especially after Lehigh last year and the Maryland game last week.
NC State is such an enigma. You wonder how inspired their team will be to take on Temple today in Dayton. I have no doubt that if they win it, they’ll be totally focused to play Indiana on Sunday, but I can’t trust them. The pick is Temple. If I’m right all fans will miss Richard Howell and Scott Wood. I can’t say the same for CJ Leslie, assuming he decides not to return.
North Carolina will take on Villanova tonight in Kansas City just after 7pm. It’s pretty simple: the Heels must make outside shots to advance to play Roy’s old squad on Sunday. I expect a close game tonight, but the Heels pulling it out over Nova due to more talent, and a big game from Reggie Bullock.
