RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Legal sharks are putting their competitive nature to use by raising resources to feed the hungry.
Attorney General Roy Cooper and the Young Lawyers Division of the North Carolina Bar Association are launching a competition between the state’s law firms to collect food and funds for food banks. The lawyers’ Feeding Frenzy competition kicks off Tuesday at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina in Raleigh.
The law firm or organization that raises the most food receives an award called the Attorney General’s Cup.
A recent study by Feeding America finds North Carolina has one of the highest rates in the country of citizens who don’t know where they’ll find enough to eat.
