CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) — Imagine pulling up to your child’s daycare during morning drop-off to find…padlocked doors?
That was the scene in front of the Goddard School on Back Creek Drive this morning.
The Charlotte daycare is reportedly more than $60,000 behind on rent.
The owners of the Goddard School notified teachers and parents of the closing over the weekend, citing building maintenance issues as the reason for closure.
However, several parents and staff members did not receive the notification, and were quite shocked to walk up to a padlocked door this morning.
It is not clear at this time if or when the school will reopen, or if they can pay the back rent money.
