Bruce Pearl:Court Storms Are A Potentially Dangerous Situation
Mac Attack 03/01/13: ESPN analyst Bruce Pearl joined the guys to recap the Duke loss to UVA last night, coaches behavior during games, court storms, and gave us preview of the weekend.
Former Tennessee Head Coach and current ESPN analyst Bruce Pearl gave us his take on everything College Basketball.
On Virginia beating Duke: “Joe Harris might be the best player in the ACC and is making a strong case to be named player of the year.Akil Mitchell has been very important to them.Bennett is a great coach with a great system and he is the perfect fit for that program.
On Coach K’s court storm comments: “It can be very scary. You have to be concerned for the safety of the players and the coaches. Its a potentially dangerous situation. Emotions are running high and fans can say things during a game that isn’t acceptable in everyday society. Now you allow them on the floor and your asking for trouble. Duke has lost 4 times this season and been stormed on every time. I understand where K is coming from”
On Miami/Duke Saturday: “Revenge can only take you so far.Duke needs to hit threes and a lot of them. They will play better but I don’t know if Plumlee has enough help on the inside with the Miami trio. They need Kelly to play to have a chance”
On Coaches yelling at refs: “Coaches that seniority and respect get more leeway. As long as I’m at the other end and not getting teed up what I’m doing I’m ok with it. If the rules are different than thats a problem. We have to regin in the coaches behavior in College Basketball
