Woman Killed When Train Hits Vehicle In Raleigh
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A Fuquay-Varina woman has been killed after her sports utility vehicle was struck by a train in Raleigh.
Police say 42-year-old Lynette Renee Fowler was the only person in the vehicle when it was hit at a crossing around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The Amtrak train had about 170 passengers on board and was en route from New York to Charlotte. None of the passengers was hurt.
The train had minor damage but was operational.
