NC State is one of the most talented teams in all of college basketball. Lorenzo Brown, Rodney Purvis, TJ Warren, CJ Leslie, Scott Wood, and Richard Howell could all become NBA draft picks. But is it possible that the Wolfpack could miss the NCAA Tournament?

I still say no way. Not with all of that talent, and the recent emergence of Tyler Lewis to help their thin bench. I loved the way they played against Miami on Saturday, minus what happened at the end of the game. They stayed right with one of the five to ten best teams in the country, in Miami, despite missing Brown. So, I still believe NC State will get things together and finish somewhere around 12-6 or 11-7 in ACC play.

But I would be a little bit concerned if the Pack loses at Duke and then at Clemson this week. That will put them at 5-6 in league play, without any significant road victories. If that trend continues, and State loses at UNC, and/or at Georgia Tech or Florida State, I would be very concerned about their postseason chances. That’s why winning in Littlejohn Coliseum on Sunday could become a huge game for the Pack if they lose in Cameron on Thursday.
