RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A former official at the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is returning to run the agency.
James Forte was appointed Wednesday as the state’s new DMV commissioner under Gov. Pat McCrory. Forte previously served as an assistant commissioner at DMV and as the legislative liaison for former State Auditor Les Merritt.
Forte starts he job Wednesday at an annual salary of nearly $111,000.
