CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBS Charlotte) — On Jan. 8, 2003, a US Airways Express plane crashed at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
Earlier today, the families of the 21 people on board Flight 5481 gathered near the crash site to remember their loved ones — 10 years after the crash.
Flight 5481 was headed to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, when it crashed into a hangar moments after take-off. There were no survivors.
The cause of crash was listed as mechanical failure due to maintenance issues, among other factors.
